Introduction

Welcome to LecSnap ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile application ("App") and the services we provide ("Services").

By downloading, accessing, or using the LecSnap App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the App, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction)
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms
  • You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations

    • 2. Description of Service

    LecSnap is an AI-powered educational tool that:

  • Analyzes video and audio content (lectures, tutorials, educational materials) from publicly accessible URLs or local files
  • Generates summaries, notes, and mind maps using artificial intelligence
  • Provides AI-powered chat assistance based on analyzed content
  • Offers subscription-based access to premium features
  • Supports optional account linking via Apple ID for cross-device synchronization

    • The App processes content using third-party AI services (including but not limited to Google Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter, and other AI platforms). AI-generated content is for reference and educational purposes only and should not be considered as professional advice.

    3. Subscription and Payment

    3.1 Free and Paid Plans

    We offer two types of subscriptions:

    Free Plan

  • Limited number of analyses per day
  • Basic features only
  • No AI chat access

    • Pro Plan

  • High-volume analysis access (Subject to our Fair Use Policy)
  • Analyze Longer Videos
  • Interactive AI Tutor
  • Deep AI Reasoning

    • 3.2 Subscription Terms

  • Payment: Payment is processed through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). All payment transactions are governed by the respective store's terms and conditions.
  • Pricing: Subscription prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region and subscription duration.
  • Currency: All charges are in your local currency as determined by your app store account.

    • 3.3 Automatic Renewal

  • Duration: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly).
  • Billing: You authorize us to charge your payment method for the renewal period.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel auto-renewal at any time through:

    • - iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → LecSnap

    - Android: Play Store → Subscriptions → LecSnap

    - Or by contacting us at lecsnap@thecgcode.com

    3.4 Free Trial

  • Eligibility: New subscribers may be eligible for a free trial period (e.g., 3-day trial for yearly subscription).
  • Trial Conversion: If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription.
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime during the trial to avoid being charged.

    • 3.5 Refund Policy

  • Refunds: All refund requests are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective refund policies.
  • Process: To request a refund, please contact the app store's customer support directly.
  • Partial Refunds: We do not offer prorated refunds for partial subscription periods.

    • 3.6 Restore Purchase

    If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you can restore your previous purchase by:

  • Going to Settings → Restore Purchase in the App

    • 4. User Responsibilities

    4.1 Acceptable Use

    You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory
  • Upload content that violates intellectual property rights (copyright, trademarks, etc.)
  • Use the App for commercial purposes without our written consent
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access premium features without payment
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers connected to the App

    • 4.2 Account Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account
  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account

    • 4.3 Account Types and Apple ID Linking

    Guest Account (Default)

  • When you first use the App, a unique Device ID is generated and stored securely on your device
  • Your data (analysis records, subscription status) is associated with this Device ID
  • Guest accounts are device-specific: if you lose your device or uninstall the App, you may lose access to your data

    • Linked Account (via Sign in with Apple)

  • You may choose to link your Apple ID to your LecSnap account
  • Linking your Apple ID enables:

    • - Cross-device synchronization: Access your data and subscription status on multiple devices

    - Account recovery: Recover your account if you switch devices or reinstall the App

  • When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple User Identifier and optionally your email address
  • Your Apple ID credentials (password, authentication details) are never shared with us
  • You can unlink your Apple ID at any time by contacting support or deleting your account

    • 4.4 Content Ownership

  • Your Content: You retain ownership of any content you upload to the App. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and display your content solely for providing the Services.
  • AI-Generated Content: Analysis results, notes, and mind maps generated by AI are owned by you. However, you acknowledge that AI-generated content may not be unique or copyrightable.

    • 4.5 Fair Use Policy

    To ensure the quality and stability of the Service for all users, Pro subscriptions are subject to a Fair Use Policy. While we aim to provide an unrestricted experience for personal study, we reserve the right to throttle, limit, or temporarily suspend accounts that exhibit:

  • Automated, bot-like, or bulk submission behaviors
  • Excessive usage patterns that significantly exceed the range of typical personal human use (e.g., analyzing hundreds of hours of video per month)
  • Sharing of account credentials with multiple individuals

    • We will assess usage on a case-by-case basis and may contact you if your usage places an unreasonable burden on our infrastructure.

    5. Intellectual Property Rights

    5.1 Our Rights

    The App and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of LecSnap and its licensors. The App is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

    5.2 Your Rights

    We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • Access and use the Services in accordance with these Terms

    • 5.3 Third-Party Content

    The App functions as a general-purpose analysis tool that processes publicly accessible URLs provided by you. You must comply with the terms of service of any third-party platforms from which you access content.

    6. Disclaimers and Warranties

    6.1 "As Is" Disclaimer

    The App and Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Accuracy, reliability, or availability of the App
  • Suitability for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement of third-party rights
  • Error-free or uninterrupted operation

    • 6.2 AI-Generated Content

  • AI-generated summaries, notes, and mind maps are for reference purposes only
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
  • You should always verify important information from original sources
  • We are not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated content

    • 6.3 Third-Party Content & Links

    The App functions as a generic analysis tool that processes publicly accessible URLs provided by you.

  • Neutral Tool: We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any content contained in the URLs you input. The App acts solely as a user-agent to access and analyze content on your behalf.
  • Compliance: By inputting a URL, you represent and warrant that you have the right to access that content and that your use complies with the Terms of Service of the respective content platform. You agree not to use the App to infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.

    • 7. Limitation of Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, LecSnap shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect Damages: Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of Data: Loss of data, content, or information
  • Service Interruption: Interruption or suspension of the Services
  • AI Errors: Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
  • Third-Party Actions: Actions or omissions of third-party service providers

    • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Services in the 12 months preceding the claim.

    8. Termination

    8.1 Termination by You

    You may stop using the App at any time. To cancel your subscription, follow the instructions in Section 3.3 (Automatic Renewal).

    8.2 Termination by Us

    We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • You attempt to circumvent payment or usage limits
  • We discontinue the Services

    • 8.3 Effect of Termination

    Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the App will immediately cease
  • We may delete your account and data (except where required by law)
  • You will not be entitled to a refund of any fees already paid

    • 9. Account Deletion

    You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated data. To delete your account:

  • In-App: Go to Settings → Delete Account

    • Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. You will lose:

  • All analysis records and history
  • Access to premium features
  • Any remaining subscription period (no refund)
  • The association between your Apple ID (if linked) and our service

    • We will process your deletion request within 30 days, except where required by law to retain certain data.

    For Apple ID users: After deleting your account, we recommend also revoking the App's access to your Apple ID via your device settings: Settings → [Your Name] → Password & Security → Apps Using Apple ID → LecSnap → Stop Using Apple ID.

    10. Privacy and Data Protection

    Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

    11. Changes to These Terms

    We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms in the App
  • Sending a notification through the App
  • Sending an email (if you have provided one)

    • Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

    12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

    12.1 Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which our company is established, without regard to conflict of law principles.

    12.2 Dispute Resolution

    Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through:

    1. Negotiation: We will attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation

    2. Mediation: If negotiation fails, we agree to submit to non-binding mediation

    3. Arbitration: If mediation fails, the dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration

    12.3 Class Action Waiver

    You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.

    13. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LecSnap and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your upload of content that violates intellectual property laws

    • 14. Severability

    If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

    15. Entire Agreement

    These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LecSnap regarding the use of the App.

    16. Waiver

    Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
